The story behind this pic is that the photographer said to strike a funny pose, so I did and nobody else heard her!
Many of you asked about the details of our Ring-n-Run! Well, the story goes like this. We went to different churches to find some needy families, but none of the churches wanted to give out addresses. So a friend Caryn happened to be talking to a girl at the gym one day, and the girl was a social worker. Caryn told the social worker what we wanted to do, and the girl agreed to help us out and gave us the names, addresses, and "wish lists" of two families.
It turned out the first family wasn't home - the mom was working and her son was with her, so we brought all the gifts to her sister's house instead. But the second family WAS home. We put a whole bunch of trash bags full of presents, foods, goodies, etc. on the doorstep, rang the doorbell, and ran to our cars. We sat in the cars (there were three SUVs full of us) until a light came on in the bedroom. A woman peeked out the window, then OPENED the window. We all started shouting "Merry Christmas! Look at your doorstep!" So she peered over the window sill and as soon as she saw all the presents, she slammed the window shut and went running to her door. She opened the front door as we pulled away, and she just hollered out, "Thank you!!!" We talked to the social worker the next day, and she said both of the families ripped open all the gifts that night and didn't wait until Christmas. :) It was one of the most fun things I've ever done!
