I have never been more thankful for my health AND for my family.
My friends Aimee and Robert Feuille have had quite a traumatic year. It started with Robert, at the age of 26, being diagnosed with testicular cancer. One year and one month later, Robert has gone thru numerous rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, surgeries, stayed in hospitals in a different state from his wife and three kids to get worked on by specialists, and now ... this Friday ... he is undergoing the knife once again to remove a tumor from his brain.
The Feuilles have incredible faith and are standing on the Word of God to help them get through this challenge. However, I can't help but think what it would be like if Curt and I were in their situation. As a wife, I couldn't imagine watching my husband go through everything he's been through while keeping a positive outlook on life. It certainly makes me count my blessings.
Some of you may remember Curt grew a beard to help raise money for Fight for Feuille back in November ("No-Shave November," a spin-off of "Movember"). We are working again to help raise money for the Feuille family as well as raise awareness of their fight and encourage everyone to pray for healing and peace.
Next month I am running in a 15K in honor of the Fight for Feuille. I'll post more information soon about how you can help, but I just wanted to let you know of what's coming down the pike.
In the meantime, please check out Robert's blog to learn more about him and his awesome family. I've known Aimee's family since high school, and was a bridesmaid in their wedding eight years ago. They are truly amazing people.
