Fight for Feuille

I have never been more thankful for my health AND for my family.

My friends Aimee and Robert Feuille have had quite a traumatic year. It started with Robert, at the age of 26, being diagnosed with testicular cancer. One year and one month later, Robert has gone thru numerous rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, surgeries, stayed in hospitals in a different state from his wife and three kids to get worked on by specialists, and now ... this Friday ... he is undergoing the knife once again to remove a tumor from his brain.

The Feuilles have incredible faith and are standing on the Word of God to help them get through this challenge. However, I can't help but think what it would be like if Curt and I were in their situation. As a wife, I couldn't imagine watching my husband go through everything he's been through while keeping a positive outlook on life. It certainly makes me count my blessings.

Some of you may remember Curt grew a beard to help raise money for Fight for Feuille back in November ("No-Shave November," a spin-off of "Movember"). We are working again to help raise money for the Feuille family as well as raise awareness of their fight and encourage everyone to pray for healing and peace.

Next month I am running in a 15K in honor of the Fight for Feuille. I'll post more information soon about how you can help, but I just wanted to let you know of what's coming down the pike.

In the meantime, please check out Robert's blog to learn more about him and his awesome family. I've known Aimee's family since high school, and was a bridesmaid in their wedding eight years ago. They are truly amazing people.

Our Snowgirl

We got MORE snow this weekend, but only about 6 inches. If we received 6 inches in the past, I would've called it a BLIZZARD, but the white stuff is becoming old hat after last weekend's 14 inches and the foot we received back in December.

Needless to say, I was getting a little restless being stuck in the house for a few more days, so I asked Curt if we could build a snowman in the backyard. As you can see, we started off with lots of enthusiasm and built a GIANT base. (We now call it her skirt.) The second layer we were a little less enthusiastic and then she ended up with a head the size of a small cantaloupe. So here she is, our "snowgirl."

Winter Wonderland

Richmond has been hit harder with snow in the past 14 months than in the past 14 years! Another storm hit this weekend (why can't it hit mid-week?) and we're expected to get up to 14 inches. The pics I took below were at about 1pm and we already had about 7-8 inches. Curt is in PA this weekend so it's just me and the hounds enjoying this winter wonderland. I got a great video of Star and Bullwinkle. Enjoy!

Star and Bullwinkle are having a blast in the snow!
